Mengtzu by the end of this dry season, or at least by the 30th September next. The least sanguine do not put the completion of that section of the line later than April 1908, and it seems to be agreed on all hands that, once arrived at Mengtzo, the rails and iron bridges will not require more than a twelvemonth for their pose along the remainder
of the line.
In other words, unless something unforeseen occurs, the French railway from the coast to Yunnan-fu will be complete and open to traffic not later than 1909.
